Dr. Ana Unkić discusses the new monograph on the Lisinski Hall – October 16 at 11:00 AM on HR3

In the program "Paths of Croatian Music" ("Putovima hrvatske glazbe"), the advisor to the director of the Lisinski Hall will speak with the show's editor and host, Iva Lovrec Štefanović, about various fascinating aspects of our institution's history.
"Musicologist Ana Unkić began working as a producer at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall 20 years ago. Little did she know then that she would go on to write an important and compelling book—a monograph—to mark the Hall’s 50th anniversary," states the program announcement, which continues:
"Titled simply LISINSKI 1973–2023—featuring a cover that practically begs to be touched, along with the prominent signature of its architect—the book was recently unveiled just before the start of Saturday at Lisinski, the Hall’s oldest and most renowned concert series.
Word of the monograph spread in late September, sparking significant interest in its contents. A delegation even presented the publication to the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović. In our conversation with the author, we learn about his connection to the Lisinski Hall, alongside a wealth of details from the venue’s rich and multifaceted history—covering its physical spaces, artworks, programming, the notable figures associated with it, and a diverse array of musical and non-musical events.
Ana Unkić, the author of the monograph, shares how she uncovered details and traces from the Hall’s extensive history and wove them into the book. She reveals features of the space that often go unnoticed by visitors and points out the location of a once state-of-the-art recording studio, now tucked away and forgotten. The musical segment of the program features recordings of Croatian music captured within the Lisinski Hall itself—most notably works by Boris Papandopulo, whose 35th death anniversary falls precisely on Friday, October 16."
