The action of the play takes place in the present day, in a city apartment where ordinary everyday life suddenly turns into chaos. One day, the first husband of a middle-aged woman — who has been living with her second husband for some time — unexpectedly appears at her door. He has just been released from prison after serving a sentence for a crime he did not commit. With nowhere else to go, he moves in with his ex-wife and her current husband.
What follows is an unusual ménage à trois under one roof. Buried emotions, jealousy and rivalry give rise to a series of hilarious situations that quickly spiral out of control. With wit, warmth and sharp insight, this comedy explores human relationships, forgiveness, and the boundaries that are sometimes impossible to draw.

To date, "The Henpecked" has had 13 premiere productions around the world, from Vienna to Moscow. In 2013, the play was adapted into the Lithuanian feature film "How to Steal a Wife", which attracted more than 100,000 cinema-goers during its first month of release.
