A disciple of the famous Russian piano school founded by Alexander Goldenweiser and Grigory Ginzburg at the Moscow Conservatory, Lugansky has assimilated all the key features of that tradition – impeccable virtuosity, sonic coloration, and a strong sense for characterizing musical material.
