The comedy "The Adventures of Creative Accountants" brings to the stage a mother, Slavujka, and her son Dobriša who — besides living together and sharing an unusually strong bond — are both first-rate economists. Two generations, two worldviews and two schools of economics are in constant conflict and reconciliation, in great love but also in furious argument, and in all that turmoil they complement each other beautifully.

In the 1990s Slavujka witnessed the making of the state and its economy first hand, and she keeps well-hidden documents that could shake quite a few people. Dobriša takes pride in his impeccably kept books, but his turbulent love life is starting to affect his business. Real trouble breaks out when his girlfriend Tratinčica discovers he has been having affairs with several of his clients. Add the disappointed women from an NGO, and the greatest danger of all in the "controversial entrepreneur" Stipe Maljo, whose books Dobriša handles almost as enthusiastically as he handles his attractive wife. Only mum can get him out of this one...
The play takes on what may be the central obsession of our time — money, and everything it means to people. Is society advancing because of it, or falling apart? That is the question it asks, offering a few answers drawn from the experience of creative accountants, those new artists of "economic realism".
