The Academic Choir Vladimir Prelog, under the direction of conductor Iva Juras, will present a Gala Anniversary Concert on 30 October 2026 in the Small Hall of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb. The concert marks the culmination of the choir’s 35 years of successful artistic activity, musical excellence, and dedication to promoting academic and cultural heritage.
The choir’s repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing arrangements of traditional folk songs, classical masterpieces, contemporary choral works, and sacred music, performed predominantly a cappella. Over the years, the ensemble has given highly acclaimed concerts in Zagreb, as well as in numerous cities throughout Croatia and across Europe.
In recent years, the choir has focused on contemporary choral literature, with a special emphasis on music of African and African American origin, a repertoire that remains largely unknown to audiences in this region. Since 2001, the choir has been led by its conductor and artistic director, Iva Juras, M. Mus.
For this anniversary concert, the programme will feature works by Busto, Hristov, Chesnokov, Stanford, Stopford, Jenkins, Slavenski, Fio, Hogan, together with a selection of Christian songs from Africa, with guests.
People in wheelchairs have a 50% discount on the ticket price. All discounts are available at the Lisinski Hall box office. In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, the buyer does not have the right to unilaterally terminate the contract (refund or exchange of the ticket), except in the case of cancellation of the event. Refunds are possible only for cancelled events, within 60 days, at the place and in the manner in which the ticket was purchased.
