Lisinski Principal Nina Čalopek and colleagues at Classical:NEXT in Budapest

At the regional meeting as part of Classical:NEXT, Director Čalopek will be one of four speakers on the topic of Perspectives, Challenges and Opportunities in the Region.
The team of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall – director Nina Čalopek, head of the Program Production and Program Technique Department Egle Vošten, and head of the Lisinski Music Information Center Jelena Vuković – will participate from April 8 to 11 at the international Classical:NEXT conference in Budapest.
 
Classical:NEXT is an international meeting and platform for all professionals in the field of classical music, about 1,500 of them from about fifty countries around the world.There are artists, managers, conductors, orchestra members, record company employees, educators, journalists, filmmakers, publishers and others. It is conceived as an opportunity for music professionals to connect, exchange perspectives and experiences, and discuss current cultural events in their communities.
 
On Wednesday, April 8, the Classical:NEXT regional meeting for Eastern Europe and the Balkans will feature Lisinski's director Nina Čalopek, followed by Judit Gaál from the MÜPA cultural institution in Budapest, Łukasz Strusiński from Warsaw's Sinfonia Varsovia, and Emilija Pušić from the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra in Novi Sad.As prominent representatives of musical life in their countries, they will introduce attendees to current achievements in their countries and institutions, as well as pressing issues.
 
As part of the entire Classical:NEXT, a series of meetings with members of the International Association of Music Centers (IAMIC), of which the Lisinski Music Information Center (MIC) is a member, are also planned.The goal is to intensify international cooperation, exchange professional practices, and develop new projects. The central meeting of the IAMIC network will be held within the framework of the IAMIC Networking Meeting on April 9, 2026. Immediately before that, on the same day, the Country Connections session organized by the Australian Music Center and Sounds Australia is organized, dedicated to connecting international partners and strengthening cooperation through targeted presentations and meetings.
 
A further networking opportunity is provided at the end of the day by gathering at the stands of national music centres, including the Scottish Music Centre, Culture Ireland and Ty Cerdd. The conference in Budapest will be attended by representatives of numerous IAMIC members from Europe and the world, including the German Music Information Centre, mica - music austria, SIGIC, Art Music Denmark, Music Finland, Contemporary Music Centre, Australian Music Center and Kunstenpunt, which further confirms the importance of this platform for the international visibility of the Croatian MIC.
