Tamburica Orchestra of the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT)

The Tamburica Orchestra of the Croatian Radiotelevision was founded in 1941 under the name “Tamburica Ensemble” as a group dedicated to performing traditional music, originally created for radio broadcasts only. Since then, the Orchestra has represented Croatian folk music in Radio and Television programs. A large part of its repertoire consists of concert works composed for tamburica instruments. Through its work—preserved in valuable recordings in the HRT sound archive—the Orchestra reflects the entire evolution of the tamburica, from a folk instrument to an artistic instrument of exceptional expressive potential. Alongside its concert performances, the Orchestra’s repertoire has greatly expanded: in addition to original compositions, it performs jazz, classical, film, popular, and light orchestral music arranged for tamburitza, encouraging Croatian composers to write new works and inviting performers from diverse musical backgrounds to collaborate. Since the 2023/2024 season, the artistic director of the HRT Tamburica Orchestra has been Matija Fortuna.
Pupils, students and pensioners have a 50% discount. For a group discount the price is 6 euros. Discounts on ticket prices are available at the Lisinski Hall box office. In accordance with the provisions of Article 86, paragraph 1, item 12 of the Consumer Protection Act, the buyer does not have the right to unilaterally terminate the contract (refund or exchange of the ticket). KDVL is responsible for programs in its own production, and for other programs their organizers are fully responsible (complaints, refund of purchased tickets for canceled programs, etc.). The buyer may exercise the right to a refund only in the event of a canceled event. A refund is possible within 30 days at the place where the ticket was purchased and in the manner in which it was purchased. In accordance with Article 10 of the Consumer Protection Act, all written complaints can be submitted in person at the business premises of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, by mail to Trg Stjepana Radića 4, Zagreb, or by email to the email address privom@lisinski.hr.
