SLAVIC RHAPSODY

A warm Slavic story written by five composers at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries brings to life compositions for violin and piano by Dora Pejačević, Josip Štolcer Slavenski, Antonín Dvořák, Josef Suk, and Henryk Wieniawski. These composers, who originated on Croatian, Czech, and Polish soil, from which they drew strength and inspiration, pushed their music far beyond the borders of their homelands making a distinctive Slavic expression recognizable and universally accepted.

The performers of this Slavic rhapsody are Eva Mach on violin and Petra Gilming on piano. Eva Mach is a Croatian violinist of the younger generation with an admirable artistic biography, described by music critics as "a violinist with a strong temperament and musicality, whose playing is characterized by a wide dynamic range and complete dedication to the music." Her musical collaboration with pianist Petra Gilming, who has had a great performing experience, is described as "perfect harmony, breathing like a single organism, and mutual complementation."

This musical experience comes with the Mosaic of Life slideshow with photos and accompanying text in Croatian and English.
