The Concert Series of Young Musicians “mo. Vinko Lesić” is conceived as a platform where young musicians can express their artistry, and where young audiences can listen to what their peers and contemporaries are working on and which programs they enjoy performing. In addition to persistent practice, one of the essential aspects of being a musician is the public performance, where they present not only their musical but also their stage skills before an audience.
The concert series “Young musicians for Young audiences” was initiated by Jeunesses Musicales Croatia back in 1992 in cooperation with the Academy of Music in Zagreb. Under the title “Musical Talents”, the goal was to organize concerts by the Academy’s finest students at the Croatian Music Institute. The program was supported by many musicians who are now renowned, and it highlighted the importance of supporting and promoting young musicians—especially the most promising ones—through concert organization and by following their careers. JMC has encouraged and inspired numerous organizations and institutions to support young talents in the same way, through organizing concerts. The
“Young musicians for Young audiences ” program was conceived as a space for the best young musicians to present themselves to their peers, as well as to Zagreb’s concert-going public. The series embodies true support for students and all young musicians who are just starting their journey, searching for their audience, and who need a tailwind—especially those with the full potential to leave a lasting mark on Croatian musical culture.
