One of the finest Croatian pianists and one of the most distinguished Hungarian orchestras will join forces to perform the masterful scores by Mozart and Schubert.
Aljoša Jurinić, praised as a “surprisingly subtle and visionary pianist” with a “rare blend of charm and mastery,” and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, whose long tradition is filled with outstanding performances of the classical repertoire, will collaborate in a performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, KV 488. The concerto is an example of the “flexibility and grace” of Mozart’s writing, whose intimate atmosphere resonates with Aljoša Jurinić’s “refined pianism” and the cultivated tone of one of Hungary’s longest-standing ensembles.

After winning the 2012 International Robert Schumann Competition in the composer's hometown of Zwickau, Aljoša Jurinić was a laureate at the 2016 Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition and the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition, as well as a finalist at the 2015 International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. Since then, he has performed on stages in more than forty countries around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Vienna Musikverein, the Salle Cortot in Paris, and many others.

In addition to the Piano Concerto, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra also chose to perform the Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K. 546, Mozart’s homage to Bach’s counterpoint, and Franz Schubert’s last completed chamber work, which also belongs to the canon of chamber music – the String Quintet in C major, D. 956.

The Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1963 by former students of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.  The orchestra has gained strong international renown, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Sydney Opera House, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and others, and collaborating with artists such as Martha Argerich, Julia Fischer, Vadim Repin, Emmanuel Pahud, Vadim Gluzman, Denis Matsuev, Mischa Maisky, Maxim Vengerov, Ilya Gringolts and others.
