The Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra, also known as “100 Gypsy Violins,” is a unique musical ensemble in the world, performing for over 30 years in the form of a classical symphony orchestra. The orchestra counts 138 members and holds prestigious honors such as the Hungarian Heritage Award and the Hungaricum title. In 2000, it was also entered into the Guinness Book of Records.

Their repertoire includes classical works by composers such as Liszt, Bartók, Kodály, Hubay, Erkel, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Sarasate, and Strauss, as well as traditional Hungarian gypsy music, folk melodies, and songs. They have performed in over a thousand concerts, from small local cultural centers to prestigious concert halls around the world.

The orchestra played at the opening of the World Expo in Lisbon in front of 20,000 people, won an award at the 45th International Music Festival in Carthage, and held 55 successful performances at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris between 2002 and 2014. They are frequent guests in France and Monaco and have performed across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, and throughout Europe.

To date, they have released 21 CDs and 5 DVDs, with 8 achieving platinum and 14 gold status. They also have a junior ensemble of 25 members, dedicated to preserving tradition by passing knowledge on to young musicians.
