Big Party Coming Up, Šima Is Back at Lisinski Hall!

There is no merrier name day than Šima Jovanovac's one!
 
This is how he is traditionally announcing his big concert, which will take place at Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall on 28 October, St. Simon's Day.
 
He has been making music for over a quarter of a century. He has enriched it, not only as an author of tamburitza songs that have entered the hearts and souls of music fans and become Croatian music evergreens.
 
Remain yourself and do your utmost for your native region, for the promotion of tamburitza and native music, have always been Šima's priorities. He has been performing at folk music and tamburitza festivals, at which he has received many awards. He has been on numerous tours around the world, he has the status of an artist and he has also been awarded for extraordinary contribution to culture.
Numerous celebrated guests, who have performed on all stages throughout Croatia and abroad, will join him on the stage: Matko Jelavić, Marina Tomašević, Cecilija, Ragusa a capella ensemble, Hajo Tamburitza Ensemble from Subotica, Kristali Tamburitza Ensemble, Vranac Tamburitza Ensemble... numerous ensembles from Slavonia, led by the legendary Vranovke, Starotopoljani, Šokadija from Gundinci...
 
The audience will enjoy numerous Šima Jovanovac hits: „Treba mi ruka tvoja” (“I Need Your Hand”), “Šta kog briga kako živim“ (“The Way I Live Is Nobody's Business”), “Zajedno smo ostarili“ (“We Have Grown Old Together”), “Slavonac sam, time se ponosim“ (“I Am a Slavonian and I’m Proud of It”), “Pjevat’ će Slavonija“ (“Slavonia Will Sing”)… and legendary hits by his dear guests: „Majko“ (“Mother”), “La musica di note“, “Laži medene“ (“Sweet Lies”), “Osam tamburaša s Petrovaradina“ (“Eight Tamburitzans from Petrovaradin”), “Kao vjetri sjeverni“ (“Like North Winds”)… Members of the Bunjevačko Kolo Croatian Cultural Centre from Subotica will dance the round dances that their grandparents used to dance.
