Anja Harteros is one of the greatest sopranos with regular performances on the stages of the most famous opera houses such as: the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the State Opera in Bavaria, Munich and Vienna... She collaborates with the world’s leading conductors as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Sir John Eliot Gardiner and others. Convincing stage performance, perfect voice control and music sensitivity adorn this German artist of Greek- German origins, so it’s no surprise that music critics, colleagues and fans denominated her Soprano of the Century. Anja Harteros won the prestigious Cardiff Singer of the World competition and it needs to be said that she successfully evokes with equal lightness and conviction Händel’s Alcina, Strauss’ Arabella, Mozart’s Countess (The Marriage of Figaro), but as well tragic heroines such as Violetta (La Traviata), and Mimì (La Bohème) .  In recognition of her outstanding artistic achievements, she was awarded the honorific title of Kammersängerin in Bavaria, the magazine Opernwelt proclaimed her The Best singer in 2009 and she is also the first winner of the Cologne Opera Award. Moreover, the Region of Bavaria awarded her with the European Medal in 2013. This celebrated artist will perform with the more than two hundred years old Pannon Philharmonic, under the baton of Maestro Ivan Repušić, currently the most successful Croatian conductor of the younger generation.

She expressively portrayed Violetta’s rapidly shifting moods — from the introspective musings... (...) — with a fine coloratura technique and powerful (if occasionally sharp) top notes.

Best of all, Anja Harteros, illuminates and enflames Mozart's writing for Elletra (Idomeneo), under the robust, if occasionally brusque , baton of Roger Norrington.

The young cast is led superbly by Jonas Kaufmann and Anja Harteros. (Review of the performance of Wagner’s Lohengrin)
